April 24 – May 1, 2026 | Amboseli, KenyaBreathe in the Wild: Kenya.
8-days immersive Safari and Breathwork Retreat in Kenya
Where Nature, Community, and Presence come together
A Journey back to Yourself
— for those ready to slow down, reset, and reconnect.
There are moments when life quietly invites you to slow down.
Not because anything needs fixing — but because your inner compass deserves attention.
You may still be moving through your days, holding responsibility, showing up —
while noticing that your sense of direction and passion feel less clear than they once did.
Breathe in the Wild was created for that moment.
This is not a Safari, but a transformational experience where wilderness, breathwork, cultural connection and guided reflection work together to support real internal shifts.
Join us for an unforgettable Retreat in sacred Maasai Land
- held beneath Mount Kilimanjaro in the heart of Amboseli
Our retreat unfolds in Amboseli, sacred Maasai land shaped by wide horizons and open plains, where elephant tuskers and wildlife move freely through the landscape.
Kenya is known for its warmth and hospitality, and here you are welcomed into a way of life that values presence, connection, and time. The land itself invites you to slow down, breathe deeper, and step out of the pace that usually defines your days.
Within this setting, the retreat offers a rare opportunity to be held by nature while being gently guided through meaningful experiences. Safari, cultural connection, and guided group sessions are woven into the days, creating space for clarity, perspective, and renewal to emerge — naturally and without force.

By joining this Retreat you will be Supporting Education in the Bush
“ Participants often arrive carrying mental noise, emotional pressure or uncertainty about direction.“
Guided by Indigenous Wisdom
Rooted in Trust and Long-Term Relationship
As part of Breathe in the Wild, you are welcomed into a Maasai community connected to a remote primary school deep in the bush.
This invitation exists through years of lived collaboration. One of the retreat facilitators has worked alongside this community over time, helping build and support the school and the families connected to it. Because of this relationship, you arrive not as a visitor, but as a guest.
The retreat is co-facilitated by an international team, bringing together deep wellness experience and local cultural knowledge. Among them is an experienced Maasai guide, born and raised on this land, who joins the group throughout the retreat. Through shared time, storytelling, and daily life, he offers insight into Maasai traditions, beliefs, and a way of living in close relationship with land and wildlife.
You are invited into shared experiences such as yoga in the bush led by a certified Maasai instructor, cooking meals over the fire, activities with the 100 Maasai students, visiting a Maasai home, and bush walks learning about medicinal plants used for generations.
This is a rare opportunity to experience Kenya through relationship, presence, and shared time — beyond what conventional travel offers
“Many participants describe these encounters as deeply emotional and perspective-shifting — reconnecting them to simplicity, gratitude and belonging.”
Your luxury Oasis in the bush
We will stay at a 5-star, eco-award-winning safari lodge set within a private wildlife conservancy bordering Amboseli National Park. Chosen for its calm, nurturing atmosphere, the lodge offers a setting where it becomes easy to fully relax and settle into the Retreat.
Surrounded by lush gardens, natural springs, and ancient acacia trees, time naturally slows. From the pool, wildlife can often be seen gathering at the nearby waterhole, accompanied by birdsong and the quiet life of the bush.

Taran Berthelsen
Breathwork Facilitator
Taran is originally from Norway and has spent most winter months in Kenya for the past eight years. After experiencing burnout in a corporate leadership role, she felt a deep need to find greater purpose and meaning in her life. This led her to embark on a healing journey and to build Moyo Primary School in the remote bush of Amboseli. She remains closely involved with the school and is deeply committed to it, working side by side with the Maasai community. Building the school, living close to nature, and discovering breathwork and yoga became central parts of her healing path.
Taran is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor and a certified breathwork facilitator, and now supports others through breathwork, yoga, bush experiences, grounding, and healing in the African bush.
